Thrush is a very damaging fungus that can eat away at the frog and cause the horse extreme discomfort.  I used to take Thrush lightly thinking it was not that big of a problem, but over the years I have realized it needs to be taken very seriously.  I use White Lightning by Grand Circurit Products to kill thrush. White Lightning mixed with equal part of White Vinegar creates a Clhorine Dioxide gas that kills all fungus and bacteria it comes in contact with.  I put 2 ounces of White Lightning and 2 ounce of White Vinegar in some type of soaker boot for 45 minutes.  I have taken a few pictures to show the process, unfortunetly I forgot to take a before shot so you could see how bad the Thrush was on this foot but I think you will get an idea when you see how badly eaten the frog is in the after shot.  The nice thing about White Lightning is that it does not seem to burn or cause any discomfort to the horse like some products and it does not harm good tissue.

Using soaker boots instead of plastic bags makes it so I can turn the horse out in a small paddock and not have to hold on to the horse for 45 minutes while the White Lightning does its magic.

Cross Sections
Again I am sorry I did not take a before shot of this foot but look at the Central Sulcus area of the frog you can see how badly eaten away it is, this whole area was just black with fungus, the foot is now clean and ready to start heeling.

Sole Thickness
Here is another foot, again you can see how badly the Thrush has damaged this frog.
